Quick Cute Headband Holiday Project

My daughter (8) made these gorgeous headbands. Such a great simple holiday sewing project, it takes no longer than 30 minutes and here's how: You will need one strip of fabric for the headband with measurements of 80cm long by 9cm wide. Fold the width of the fabric in half with the right sides of fabric facing and sew down the long end and along one short end, turn the headband the right way around and close the end opening with a neat topstitch and iron flat.
To make the flowers, simply cut out a three petal flower template on cardboard and use this to cut out 5 to 6 flowers in different fabrics. To arrange, start with one fabric cutout and place the next one on top moved slightly clockwise so that the petals are not directly on top of one another, repeat for all fabric cutouts, pin together to secure.
The position of the flower is just off centre of the headband. Hand sew the flower onto the headband using a button in the centre of the flower to finish it off.
You have finished, tie it in your hair (with the tie at centre back) and enjoy!
